Proud to provide a range of dental services, we specialise in such areas as preventing problems, emergency dental treatment, children’s dentistry, dental hygiene and much more.

Examinations/check-ups

At Calton Hill, we strongly believe prevention is better than cure. That is why we encourage you to come in for regular screening check-ups.
This enables us to pick up any potential problems early and find simple solutions to minimise the damage.

Preventative Dentistry

Our experienced dental clinicians can assist in preventing oral health problems. We offer a range of options including sealant, where a layer of protective coating is placed on the back teeth to prevent decay.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous Oxide is  a safe and effective sedative  available for patients who experience anxiety during dental treatment.  We encourage any patients wanting to speak about this option further to contact us today.

Children’s dentistry

With regular dental checks we can help detect any problems early, preventing potential pain and discomfort. We will also ensure any problems with tooth position and jaw relationships are treated at the correct time.
Our dentists are passionate about educating little ones on the importance of dental hygiene.

Fillings

We use white filling material to restore your teeth. This type of filling bonds to the tooth, offering more support to the tooth structure.

We also offer the use of an air filtration system when removing old silver amalgam fillings to minimise mercury vapours.

Dental hygiene

We can guide you on the path to lifelong oral health with our dental hygiene treatments.

Emergency dental treatment

At Calton Hill, we can diagnose and treat toothaches, lost fillings, broken teeth or any source of pain or discomfort.

Nitrous Oxide Inhalation Sedation is available for use.

We will usually see you on the same day. Please ring early in the day to secure your appointment.

Gum disease

We treat gum disease by initial cleaning and disinfecting the teeth and gums, followed by long term monitoring of the affected areas and ongoing oral hygiene.

Dentures - full and partial

At the practice there are numerous types of dentures available to meet your needs, including metal and plastic.

Our aim is to provide you a denture that is comfortable, aesthetically appealing, stable and fully functioning.

Teeth whitening

Teeth can become discoloured from a number of different things, such as coffee, smoking and red wine.

We want our patients to be confident when they smile, so we offer a bleaching treatment to provide simple, effective tooth whitening.

Veneers

A veneer is a coating placed on the front of the tooth. It can often change the tooth’s aesthetics and close unwanted gaps.

At Calton Hill, we provide both composite and porcelain veneers.

Crowns and bridges

A crown or ‘cap’ is a hard casing surrounding your tooth. Crowns can be used for functional protection of your teeth or for aesthetic enhancement.

Bridges are usually a single false tooth fixed permanently to the tooth next to it. This enables effective closing of a gap from a missing tooth and eliminates the need for an implant or denture.

Endodontics (root canal treatment)

To remove the bacteria from the root canal we will thoroughly disinfect and fill the area.

The tooth will then require a filling or a crown to prevent bacteria re-entering the tooth.

Tooth extractions (oral surgery)

Tooth extraction may be required if you have:
a tooth that cannot be repaired due to the effects of tooth decay or trauma
impacted or partially erupted wisdom teeth
baby teeth that have failed to fall out

 Mini implants

For those that don’t require full or partial dentures, mini implants could be your best option.

Cosmetic dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry focuses on dental treatments that improve the appearance of a person teeth and smile. These treatments can include tooth whitening, dental implants, porcelain veneers, crowns and bridges.

    Mouthguards

We have custom made mouthguards for those who enjoy competing in sports. Our mouthguards are comfortable and come in an array of colours and patterns.

    Bite adjustments

If you require an adjustment to your bite we can provide the treatment needed.
